I noticed on the browse page that my payhip promotion wasn’t showing up no matter how many times I refreshed the page. But once I looked in the filters, I noticed “sold on Jinxxy” was checked by default. Once I unchecked it, my promotion immediately showed up.
This is problematic for a couple reasons:
1) the point of paying for promotion is to be promoted to Jinxxy’s full audience. If external links are not going to have the same access, they should not have to pay the same amount.
2)This raises the question of reporting accuracy, because if I’m to believe the impressions reported (even though I never saw my promo no matter how many times I refreshed the page while that filter was on), that would mean people are unchecking that filter en masse. Maybe that’s the case, so I if it is, then maybe it’s a UX issue because why force customers to use a filter they don’t want, if I’m to believe that people are unchecking the box en masse to get the impression numbers that are being reported?
Over 30k impressions in 6 hours seems unlikely if people aren’t unchecking that filter en masse. Especially since my promo can’t be seen at all while that filter is on.
And on another note, clicks should be attributed to the promotion that generated them…this is a standard practice in digital advertising reporting.
