Product with Explicit content Warning enabled can't have tags added

I recently released a product that has the explicit content warning enabled and I applied relevant tags upon release, the tags never applied and every time I try to they are wiped, I had to get around this by updating my product with the warning removed, adding the tags, updating again, then updating another time to reaaply the explicit content tag - Really not a good way to do this
